2012 Family Theme

Our family theme for 2011 was "Faith"! This was very evident as our faith was being grown and proven through the many events of last year!! We continually relied solely on God for soo much throughout the year - from jobs to relationships to moving to housing to ministry to schooling and even down to our very basic needs!!!! God's provision and faithfulness is so very evident in our 2011 year!! God is soooo good!!!! I can't seem to get that saying of thankfulness off my mind!!!

So recently, I was asked by my boys what our family "theme" would be for this year?? That in itself floored me that they thought so highly of our "Faith" theme of 2011!! We really did try to express to them at every turn how God was leading and we were His followers..........and that He would provide even when we didn't have all the answers! And boy did He ever provide!!!!! Our faith has grown in immeasurable ways that I am sooo very thankful for!!!!! So after much discussion about a family "theme" for 2012............we came up with "Believe"!!!! We believe God has great things planned for this year! Things that ONLY can be said it is from God!!!!!! Unexplainable, unbelievable and wonderful things are going to happen this year!!!! We can see God working ALL around us and it is soooo exciting!!!!!!

Fun on The Run!!?

Fun on The Run = Lots of CRAZY Fun!!!!!! We started out at an outdoor ice skating park, near our house, which was amazing!!!!!! And then we went to a glow in the dark putt-putt golf!!! We finally ended the night at Buckaroos ( indoor ropes obstacle course, mechanical bull riding and gyrosphere!) This is also where Dylan works!!!! We did ALL of this in a four hour period of time!!!!!!???? Soooo fun!!!

It is such a blessing to be able to watch and be a part of our boys making amazing friendships!! God has blessed us with great Christian friends!!!!!!!!!

Our theme for this year is "FAITH" and it was carried through into our Christmas time as well. We received soooooo many blessings from friends, family and most importantly from God!! We had to go through many holiday changes this year, but at every turn there was a blessing awaiting us!!!!!!!!! We definitely had a very Merry Christmas and can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2012!!!!!!!

Our teens at Belmar Baptist Church took on a HUGE project this Christmas! They ALL pulled together and gave of their own money, bought toys, wrapped gifts and gave of themselves and their time to be a HUGE blessing to over 50 single moms............this is over 100 kids!! These children had a good Christmas because of the willingness of our teens. They were not only a blessing to these very appreciative moms, but also to several of our church families (me included!) as they came and saw how our teens had organized and accomplished such a huge project!!!! I walked into this room and saw this:

How AMAZING is this!!!??? More toys and games than most toy stores even have......... I stood in the doorway and just cried............feeling sooo amazed and humbled at how our teens had given of themselves in such a huge way! I am soooooo extremely proud to be a part of a youth group with such heart for others!!!! The many, many children and families that would now be able to have a Merry Christmas!!

2 BIG Dreams

I have two really BIG dreams..........these are very personal dreams that I have had for many years.
1. I have a dream of meeting and getting to know my Mom. She and my Dad divorced when I was very little and I would love to find her someday. I would love to tell her that I have done ok and that she has 3 beautiful grandboys! And the most wonderful Son-in-law she could ever wish for!! I don't know her situation or what she has been through in her life, but I would just like to be given the opportunity to meet her and to learn about her. I would like to know if I have any brothers and/or sisters. This would be amazing to know about a whole other side to my family that is a total mystery to me!! I have always had a hole in my life where there should have been that Mother/Daughter love and bond....there is a longing there to know about my Mom. To meet her someday.........that is my dream!
2. I have a dream of owning our own forever home. This has been the biggest trial of the last 17 years - which is our entire married life! We have tried countless times........all to no avail! I can look back and say it was much easier to pick up and follow God's call to Colorado because we didn't have to worry with selling a house. :) Now that we are here and we know without a doubt that we are supposed to be here, I REALLY want to buy a house!!!!! A house that we can call our own and be settled. A house where someday our boys and grandkids can come home to visit us, where memories will be made and cherished forever...... But, there just isn't a possible way right now....... I can tell you that is exactly what I said when the call came to move across the country "There is NO way!" But with God ALL things are possible!!!! So with that, I am telling you that I do beleive that God WILL provide a way for my dream of home ownership to come true!!!

Forgiveness

Hindsight is always better than presentsight..........looking back i can now see how God was working in my life. He has used people and situations (both good and bad) to grow me and to move me closer to Him. He has put me in places where I have relied on Him TOTALLY!!

But, I didn't always see Him in what I went through..........people that I was really close with, hurt me very badly. I was a wounded person and couldn't believe people that I thought I knew so well could be so hurtful....... We are all just human and we all fail daily as we strive to be more like our Father. I have now reached that point in my walk with God that I can give forgiveness to those that did wrong to me.......I don't have to carry that hurt around with me. I can't be accountable for the actions of others - I can only be held accountable for my actions and how I react to situations. I can't change other people - I can only change myself. Some people will never change........

It is amazing how light my shoulders feel now as I release the burden of hurt! Giving Forgiveness is exactly where my Father wants me at this moment.

What I Love about CO!!!

I find myself very thankful lately as I look around! So I thought it would be great to list some things about Colorado that I am loving!!

1. I am in awe daily of how close God has drawn me to Him! I find myself totally dependent on Him and it has made life sooo much easier and more enjoyable!

2. I am loving how I can see how God is working in my boys! They are seeing the "mission" field all around them. They see how much of a difference there is here now that we're not in the "Bible Belt"........ They are inviting their new friends to church.............and Dylan witnessed firsthand 2 of his friends accept Christ!!!!! Just AMAZING!!!!!!

3. I love seeing Jeremy working in the Children's Ministry!! His eyes just light up as he is coming up with sooo many ideas!! God has definitely led us to the perfect church for us to serve in.........we are loving gettting to know the people. They are soo welcoming and loving!!

4. I love my job!! The kids are precious and every day is just so rewarding! The ladies are amazing and I am overjoyed to be working with them! Getting to work for Penny again is even more enjoyable than I thought it would be!!!!!

5. Jeremy loves his job and it is so awesome to see him thrive in an area that he really enjoys!! It is a different story every day!!! LOL!! He is working for some great people who really enjoy having him as part of their team!!

6. The scenery is soooo beautiful here!! I had never been to CO before so I really didn't know what to expect! But seeing the mountains so grand before me every morning as I drive to work is just breathtaking! We have been hiking several times and it is amazing the views that there are to take in! Hiking has been such a great time for all of us!!

7. The weather has been incredible!!!! One of the "hottest" summers CO has seen in a long time............well, let's just say that it really wasn't "hot"!!!! Not like the "HOT" that we are used to in TX!!!!!! We have sooooo loved the beautiful days of this summer!! And we especially love how it gets soooo nice and cool in the evenings! Drinking coffee and sitting outside with a blanket on summer nights............yes, I am easily getting used to this!!!!!!

8. Love the schools that we were led to register the boys in!! Damon's school is small and a perfect fit for him!! D & D's school is really pretty large (5A) - but they have adapted really well!! It is "block" scheduling - so that means they only have 3 classes each day!! They really like this part......especially Kota!!! LOL!! They have both made good friends :) this especially is exciting for Kota since his last 3 yrs at Middle School were (as far as how other kids treated him) beyond terrible!

9. Love our little house that God provided for us! It has many upgrades and is great for us! We have gotten really close as a family and that is priceless!!!

10. The accessibility of stores!!! I don't have to just go to "Walmart"!! Every store imaginable is within 5 miles of our home..........this is awesome, but also is detrimental to my wallet!!! LOL!!!

11. I am loving helping with the Youth Group at church! We have some amazing teens that literally would do anything for you!! Some really fun activities and very heartfelt worship times!

This list is longer than I thought.........I will be continuing this soon!!!!

Changes

Soooo many changes for the Wild West fam!! These changes have come so fast! I feel like I have been in a whirlwind for the past few weeks!! I have felt God move in my life in a way like I've never seen before.......my
Faith has been tested...... and now I can honestly say that my Faith has grown. I have been totally dependant on God. I am a "planner" and this whirlwind has definitely not been planned by me. :) I have been in His hands and He has led the way for all these changes. I have a peace like never before - I can't explain it , all I can tell u is that He is leading us and I have never felt more peace than I do right now.
We are in the process of moving to Lakewood, CO.......I say process because only 3/5 of our fam is there! LOL!! Dylan and I are leaving for a peru mission trip on Monday. We are so ready to see God work in and through us as we give ourselves to do His work. We will b gone for two weeks and then we will get to join them in CO!!
Jeremy starts a new job on Monday. Pest and animal control specialist........he is very excited about this new adventure....... I am sure he will come home with some very interesting stories to share around the dinner table!!!
He will also b working in the Belmar Baptist Church with the Children's Ministry. This has been his heart for soo many years. We are overwhelmed with how God has laid out His plan for us and opened the doors right before our eyes........
When I arrive in CO, I will also b starting a new job! I will b working at Jacob's Academy! I am soo excited to get to work with a very dear friend. I have always LOVED being around the kids and seeing their little eyes light up when given a smile or a hug........
The boys will all b starting new schools in the fall...... Damon's application has already been approved for the school we wanted for him!! We will b getting the other two registered soon.
So as you can see, many new changes for the West house........We are excited to see God's plan as it unfolds before us!!

God's Voice

I am trying to learn the characteristics of God's voice......I think of a child across a very busy room hearing a very familiar voice....her father's voice. Above everything else going on in the room she can hear him saying something to her all the way across the room. She can pick out his voice - her loving Daddy's voice.
I want to be like that child.....in all the craziness of this busy world.....I want to be able to hear my loving Father's voice as He talks to me.
His voice is not bossy....it's not demanding.......it's not pushy. I have so many of these voices everyday that I think it's important to know in my heart that He does not talk to me in this way. He is wanting me to slow down and focus across this busy world on Him as he patiently talks to me. May I focus on Him as I make my daily choices and decisions.......and look to Him for His approval and not to others around me. As I bring out what God's voice is NOT.....I can now focus on what His voice is to me: patient, loving, wise, comforting, guiding, and most importantly My Daddy's Voice!

Extreme Sledding!

We went to Imagination Mountain.....spent 2 hours having a blast!! Some sledded sitting, some standing & some didn't even use a sled!! When it comes to snow and ice, I have learned that I have a VERY adventurous family!!!

Thankful Thursday

Just a few things that I find myself being very thankful for:

1. Very good friends that are so encouraging to me. It seems that every time I feel even a little down, God sends that perfect friend along with just the right words! It amazes me how God takes care of us even in the little times that we are feeling discouraged. I have to remind myself that he loves me more than I can imagine and I don't have to always be "up".

2. I am thankful for the most loving, caring and amazing husband! He knows me and still loves me to no end....I can't grasp that either! A wonderful man of God is what I am thankful for!

3. Damon is feeling much better! He was horribly sick and weak for over 4 days.....it made my heart so sad to see him feeling so terrible. Thankful for healthy boys.....I know we take this for granted, but I find myself reminded of how thankful I am to have healthy children!

4. My home......God has provided us with this beautiful home for us to share soooo many wonderful memories together! It may not be "ours"......but I am very thankful we are here!

5. Snow days!!! We have had so much fun with the snow! Igloos, forts, snowman, sledding and of course snowball fights! The snow has brought us lots of laughter, fun & memories that I will cherish forever!!!!

Thanksgiving

We had originally planned to go to MO for Thanksgiving........but my Grandma got pnemonia and was in the hospital (she's doing better now - thank you to all who had her in your prayers!) So we had to change our plans.......the boys were really excited about going on a road trip and we hated to tell them that we were staying home. Our family really needed a getaway for a few days.......to rest and regroup as a family!! We wanted something fun for all of us, so we started talking about Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine! We had heard great things from friends that had gone and it sounded fun.......so Jeremy called and found a reasonable rate for one night!!! Not the "traditional" Thanksgiving....but we had a wonderful time!!!!!

Damon always makes a penny for Papa whenever we go somewhere special!!!! :)

They had tons of fun playing the MagiQuest game all over the Great Wolf!!!! They said I could come along "as long as you don't slow us down"!!! LOL!!!!

I just love the ages of my boys right now!! They are soooo different and sooo fun in each their own way!!
I am not one to whine and complain.....
BUT......they are sooo short tempered with each other! :( They know each other sooo well that the "buttons" to be pushed are being pushed EVERY day!! They still do great things for each other to help each other out - but when it comes to words we are not nice at all!
I think I am going insane some days.....
I keep reminding myself that YES they will love each other someday!! :)

I want to teach kindness and not rudeness!! I need to think of some sort of punishment to put in place for our home that will be effective and show God's love. I want to beleive that this behavior is only because they are "brothers" and that they do show love to others outside of each other.

Let me know your ideas for three great boys who are not being good "brothers"!

Florida!

I know it was over a month ago - but i was going through our pictures again! Just thought it would make a good blog post since I haven't done that in awhile! LOL!!

We all had fun "writing" in the sand!

We really enjoyed the USS Alabama! They got to explore every inch of the battleship and the submarine too! This was where they got their first veiw of ocean waters!

Crab hunting every night was a big highlight! So much family fun to be had as we walk miles and miles on the beach! Wed night we caught 76 crabs!!!

Our sunset walks along the beach were amazing!

Dylan was so good at the skimboard! Damon was really getting it too! The rest of us.......well, we enjoyed watching!!

Kota was so good at the surf ride in the waterpark! I think he even surprised himself!

We built some amazing sand creations all week!

I love this picture! They are so precious to me. I had an 8 x 10 made of it and every time i look at it I am overcome with thankfulness that God would bless me with 3 wonderful boys!

Damon's favorite thing to do!! "Mom, I can't go ride because I'll be gone for an hour and think it's only been 10 minutes! And we're leaving in 30 minutes so I'll be really late!!!" LOL!!!!

Summer's Coming!

We only have a few weeks left of school.......this is the time of year that I am so very thankful that I do not work in the summer!! We have some fantastic memories from the time that I get to stay home. As my boys get older it makes these times even more precious to me. I thank the Lord that He has provided a way for me to be home with them!

These next 2-3 weeks are going to be so extremely busy........but yes, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!! Calmer, slower days are coming!!!!

State inspection!

We had our State Inspection done this morning here at the preschool! I always get nervous when this time comes around. Yes, I am a perfectionist at heart and I hate having ANYTHING written wrong against our preschool. BUT I have learned throughout my years that she will ALWAYS find something. She is a precious lady and I love her dearly. I have known her for years and she always talks very openly about her family and whatever she may be interested in at the time. I have learned so much from her over the many yearly visits she brings my way...... We of course did very well on this visit. She always tells me what a great preschool facility we have and how the teachers are wonderful. (i already know this but it is great knowing that someone else sees it too!). So now we are good until next time (Mar-May sometime)!
If only she would tell me when.....then I could have some coffee, sodas or maybe even some donuts waiting for her..........it couldn't hurt!!! LOL!!!!

Our Preschool Graduation is just around the corner......we are getting very excited about the summer coming!!

Unchartered Waters

Yes, I know it's been awhile! I think I have been preoccupied with all the many changes coming our way! Where do I start????
*I now have a 15 yr old son that has a "girlfriend" - this is fine with Jeremy and I and I couldn't be more proud of Dylan. He has pretty high "standards" when it comes to his friends and for himself too.
*Driver's Ed??!! Are you serious?? He is really old enough for this?? I'm not saying he is not mature enough - it's just that he is and always will be my "baby" - and yes we have started DE classes!!
*I didn't think the day when we would be "truck shopping" would come so quickly. We have set a budget for him and we have been "looking" to see what this budget can get him.
*We are trying to find financing for the house we are in - we know God put us here and now we just need to get it finalized. Prayers are needed for this. It is such a huge burden for our family.
*I am now working another part-time job! It is such hard work - but I really enjoy it. The people that I work with are amazing and very encouraging - and I know God put me here because I am in need of some major encouragement as we go through these changes.
*We are adding a first and second grade to our preschool at church. It is a very exciting time - but again many changes to take place! Alot of work and juggling for me as we venture into this.
*Planning a trip to Florida with some friends - this will be a MUCH NEEDED break! the boys have never seen the ocean and its been many years since Jeremy and I have. I love vacations with my wonderful fam! We always have so much fun together!
OK......... I think you get the idea!! We are experiencing MANY changes - some exciting - some scary! I keep hanging on and just take it one day at a time!!!!!

A "Normal" Week?

Well, I started this week saying how excited I was to finally be having a "normal" week.......hahahahaha.......I haven't been to church in over 3 weeks so on Saturday night I said "yay, I finally will get to go to church!" Well not exactly......woke up with Kota not being able to move his head AT ALL!! He was in so much pain. He laid on the couch and DID NOT MOVE! If you know my Kota you will know that he never is still for more than a couple of minutes!! Not a bad thing, just who he is!! A dear friend brought us lots of good stuff including a "tens" machine - which Kota called the "defribulator"!!! Lol!! Did everything we could think of all day Sunday - but to no avail - he woke up Monday still in bad shape so I called Memaw and she got him in to the chiropractor - long story short - he was hurt alot more than just his neck! He was having muscle spasms starting at his hips up his back all the way to his neck!! He got "worked on" but his neck was too swolen for it to be worked on. What an ordeal that has been - he's finally doing better today - we think it probably started with him doing weight lifting at school!
Back track a little to Sun night and Jeremy and I are woken by Damon who has 103 fever and is shaking from head to toe uncontrollably! He stays with us all night which means we were worried sick about him and didn't sleep........took him to the Dr first thing on Mon morn...........he has strep and his white blood count is off the charts!! His poor body was fighting this so hard and this is why he was shaking.......he had no symptoms other than a headache on Sun night before bed. He ended up getting a shot (which he was not too happy about) and other meds.......he is now too feeling better. I am so releived to see them both feeling more like themselves. It always gets me "down" when any of my babies are hurt or sick - I guess that is the Mother's Love that God gives us.
So it's only Tues and wow what a week it has been already!!!!! Soooo I guess I'll hope for a "normal" week next week!!! Lol!!

K-3 Teaching!

Wow! How the time has flown - I have been substituting teaching in our 3 yr old class - and I have thoroughly enjoyed it! I have never taught 3 year olds - what an experience they have been. Every day one of them will say something (whatever pops into their head at the moment) that will just keep me laughing all day long!!! Our regular teacher has been out for the past 6 weeks taking care of her precious new addition: Mallory Gwen!! I sure have missed her - she is one of my dearest friends - and I was so used to talking with her on a "daily" basis!! Yes, I know she only lives down the block from me - but I wanted to give her plenty of time to herself, her family and the new baby!!! Anyway, this is my last week to be the "teacher" - just trying to think of ALL the ways I can "spoil" her class before she returns next week!! She will just LOVE me for it - I know!!!

Honest Scrap Award!!!

Wow!! What can I say?? Many thanks to my friend the Journaling Gina !! O.k now I have to tell 10 things about myself.....

1. I am ever thankful for my salvation and the sacrifice that my Savior has made for me! The perfect example of "unconditional love" that I can always look to. He is my Protector, my Friend, my Father and my Provider! Thank you Lord!

2. I love to be with my family! They are so amazing - I have so many great memories of all the great times we have had together. I have been told that those memories are "priceless" and all other "things" are just that - THINGS! This has proven true in soo many ways!

3. I love to read. I don't get much time to do it these days - but I try to squeeze in a good book every once in a while. I'm not real particular in what kind of books - they just have to be good enough to keep my attention!

4. I love to scrapbook our family photos! It is so fun for me to do this with Jeremy - he is so very creative and we really enjoy doing it together - whenever there is time. We haven't done this in a long while - maybe some day we will just pull it all out again?? Again, I don't get much time to do this, so it is evident in that I am just now getting to Damon's birth pics!

5. Helping others is something I really enjoy! I want to see where God wants me to be and who I can help each day. I'm not saying that I am always in this mindset - but I really enjoy the days that I am!

6. I love to be called "Mom" "Momma" "Mommy"! Those words are not just words or names to me.....they are sounds of my blessings of Love!! I am so blessed to have 3 wonderful boys!! They are so loving and encouraging to me and they don't even realize it. I am still amazed at how God would bless me with them.....I just hope I can fulfill all that He wants me to be.

7. I want to be anywhere Jeremy is. It doesn't matter where or what he is doing. I could be working with him, watching Cowboys football, cooking together or just driving and talking. Our love has grown so strong over the past 15 years and I see it growing still each and every day. We have been through hard times and wonderful times together and now we can't see anything that we can't go through together. He is my very best friend and I will go whereever he leads.

8. I love to plant flowers every Spring and Summer. I love to work in the flowerbeds and to keep them up all summer long.

9. Dinner on the patio is one of my favorite things. We usually do this in the Spring and the Fall when the evenings are nice and we can really enjoy each other. Jeremy will grill up something really yummy and we sit there for hours just talking.

10. "Best part and worst part of your day?" The boys always ask these questions at dinner......we have great conversations about our ups and downs of each day. I think this is a special part of their day to be able to share and also hear about our day too.

Thankful Thursday prt 2!

It's been a very long while since I have updated - and it just so happens to be Thurs. - so why not start back by being Thankful!!??

1. A family that loves the Christmas season as much as I do!! They want to spend Christmas Eve making cookies and lots of other fun treats together. I love that they all WANT to stay home and play games and spend time together. We really come together and really remember the reason for the season!!

2. I am so very thankful that I do have a reason for this Christmas season!! My Jesus my Savior.....born so long ago - and still remembered and cherished today and every day!!

3. Preschool Moms that are so very helpful and encouraging to me at just the exact time that I am needing it!! I do beleive that God has placed them in my life for such a time as this........

4. My wonderful preschool teachers!! They are amazing and I am in awe of all they do on a daily basis!! They really do give their "all" every single day!!

5. So thankful that I can work with Pam, Karlette and Cynthia each weekend. We work hard and have so much fun all at the same time!!!

6. And finally I am so thankful that God has allowed me to work at the preschool and that we get to have 2 weeks off with our families for the Christmas break!! Time to slow down and get rejuvenated........both of which I need!!!

Take time this Christmas time to slow down in all the busyness and remember the REAL reason that we celebrate this season!!!

What a great God we have!!! Let me take time to give thanks for just a few things He has blessed me with lately!

1. The "individuality" of our 3 boys! They are so very different and I thank God for this! We are constantly reminded of how each one has his own ways of doing and thinking in every situation. I pray we can consistantly meet each one where he is and provide the encouragement he needs to become the man God wants him to be!!! God is so good and I am thankful that He has made no 2 people the same!

2. My wonderful husband! My Leader-My Friend-My Lover! God "hand-delivered" him to me and I am so very thankful for the path that He provided for me! I was so young and so needing the unconditional love that was brought to me! I am so thankful that I have him to "grow old with"!!!

3. A great night tonight with only Damon! He has been so excited to have the night with just Mom!! We went to Pizza Inn and to Blockbuster to get a movie! The makings for an 8 yr olds PERFECT night with Mom!!! He is so precious to me!!

4. Dylan making it through his first official H.S game with no additional injuries!!! They lost but he had a great time playing the entire game!! I love his heart for sports - he gives 110% no matter what he is doing!!!

5. Thankful for the West's and their willingness to let Jeremy borrow their car to go to Longview to see Dylan's game!!! We always want to go but didn't have the ability with me needing the van today for school pick-ups and Jeremy needing to leave at 2:00. They didn't even hesitate when he asked them to borrow it!! We have the most amazing family that is always ready and willing to help in any way possible! Thank you!!!!!!

Dylan working on a computer project - and yes, it's not due for another week - he always gets things DONE!! He has never been one to put anything off! A great character quality that sometimes drives us crazy - when its something we have to get for him or help him with - he will constantly ask us when and where we are going to get it done!!!! Love it! We have learned to ask when do you need this by?????

Dakota doing a science assignment - making an oxygen atom! It was supposed to be a creative food project!! Our Science Guy Dakota found our marshmallows and went after it!! Only burned himself one time on the glue gun!

Damon working on his make-up work after missing 2 days of school! He has been working so very hard on his schoolwork! He is having a great start to this year!

First Football

Dakota had his first football scrimmage last Saturday! It was raining!!!!!! Yes, I was a good Mom and went and sat out in the rain for 2 1/2 hours!!
He is #33 and he did great!! His team is called the Bears!! Played Safety on Defense and inside receiver on offense. (I've learned alot about football in the past 4 years!!)

Not bad pictures - since I was holding an umbrella and the wind was blowing!!!

Really???........ getting a drink from the "water wagon" in the rain??? O.k.!!!

It was a good game and the towo teams tied with 14 - 14!

We were both completely soaked and beleive it or not really COLD!! We came home, got dry clothes on and wrapped up in blankets!!

Labor Day Surprise

We were so surprised on Labor Day!! A great friend of ours calls us up on Mon. afternoon and asks if we would like to go flying with him!!!!! Uummmm......let me think.......YES!!!!!! We had the most amazing time! Jeremy and I have flown once when we went to Mexico - but the boys had never flown. When we told them we thought it would be Damon that would be a little unsure - but NO it was Dylan!!!!! He said he was loving the ground and didn't need to leave it!!!! haha! Dakota and Damon were soooooo excited!! Dylan soon came around - being the big bad teenager he is - didn't want to show any signs of fear!!!! LOL

The Brewer Aircraft!! We loved it!! Dylan B. was soooooo informative about runways, taxiing, talking to the tower, and sooo much more about airplanes!!!! He is FULL of information just bubbling to get out and to be shared!!! LOL!!!! We were very entertained while waiting on the ground!!

They were asking who would go first and Dakota jumped right in and said he was!!!

After his ride he said"I could do that ALL DAY!!" He named all the things he saw from about 1000 ft up!! He still says it was a Labor Day to always remember!

Dylan faced his fears and went up next! He said it was really neat how you could feel every movement of the plane and how everything was soooo small!

I love this picture!! He had the best time and still is talking about all he saw "from way up high"!

Yes - even Dad got in on the flying action!!!

We saved the best for last!! Hurricane Harbor is awesome! We always have sooooo much fun there! We go from "open to close" and never can get enough!!

Dakota went church camp - and had a BLAST! He has really grown up alot this summer.

Our last Fun Friday was school shopping in Grapevine. They all enjoyed Gameworks as I shopped for the best deals. We had a great day!

Fun Fridays was officially a success - I think we all had a great time this summer deciding where we would go on each Friday. Already planning a trip to Destin for next summer!

I am in awe of how God is working ALL around me.....maybe He has just opened my eyes....or maybe I have just taken the time to see.....anyway it has happened, I am just amazed at how my God is so interested in the details of my life and others around me.
I've started the Bible study of Esther by Beth Moore and can I just say the timing of it couldn't be just coincidence. As Ms. Rooks said there are alot strong women coming forth that are not afraid to stand up for their God!! Love it!!! I have loved the fellowship with good Christian ladies and the encouragement that comes with it. I am "diving" into God's word and "listening" to what God has for me each day!!

Our preschool starts in just a few weeks and oh how God has blessed it!!! We have an all time high in numbers at 73 and the teachers that we have this year are AMAZING good godly women. I am so blessed to be surrounded by them each day! God has great things in store for us this year and I think we are ALL feeling it! Can't wait to see God moving in the preschool!!

My family is very close as we have really grown closer through this summer. That can only be a God thing too. I keep seeing teenagers these days and how they disrespect adults and their own parents too. I keep thinking that my teenager will be pulling away from us too - but so far he is very open and respectful of us. I praise God for this as he is such a great young man and he is grounded in his Faith. I pray the Lord will keep him close even if he does draw away from us - but for now I am really enjoying the way he wants to always hang out with us!
They are really excited about starting a new school year and all the new friends they will have - I know God has great things in store for them as they start this new adventure!!
I am so very blessed with a husband that so dearly loves me!! He is our Rock and he is an amazing father to our very adventurous boys!!! I am looking forward to having some Friday Date Nights when our summer Fun Fridays are over. We have had alot of fun but I do miss getting out with just my hubby.....

I am also seeing our church family growing closer together. This is amazing as families are pulling together to help each other out and for great fellowship. We are in a time of transition and I am seeing God work in so many ways!!

So I will end for now - and just know that my eyes are wide open to the workings of my Savior all around us.........Thank you Lord!!

We started our summer with a Ranger Game. Before the game there was a Casting Crowns concert. It was great!! Good friends and good fun - and the All You Can Eat was fun too!!!!

Then we went to the Ft Worth Zoo. It was a perect day for this!

We had a wonderful Friday at Splash Kingdom!! We had never been and we all thought it was great!!

A week of VBS.......it was a terrific week. God worked in sooo many ways that week - I still look back on it and say WOW!!

We spent a Friday swimming at a friend's house!! Great time of fun and friendship!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOTA!!! He gets his own Fun Friday Birthday!! His good freind Jaime sent him cupcakes - he was so excited and he thought he was getting to eat all of them by himself???!! What our "sharing" Kota wants to be selfish!!!???? You know he shared!!LOL They were wonderful!

His brothers got him a "Vulcan"! 3 bulletts per second!! Yes our house is the Nerf capital!! Nerf wars start and Mom says "I think I'll leave for awhile!!!"LOL

We bought him a trip to Medievil Times - he has always wanted to go!! And we even let him bring a freind.....glad you could come Mr. Bruce!!

We surprised him with his very own phone!! He was in shock and Dylan was laughing so hard!!

This was our "knight" - the black and white knight!!! And he WON the tournament!! We were so excited and yelling and cheering!

We really enjoyed having a Fun Friday on Dakota's birthday!!

I know I know......it's been awhile since I've posted anything. I guess I just took a break....... anyway the summer is going great - a little too fast for my liking - but good all the same! We have been soooo busy - it has been a good kind of busy though!!! I will post some pictures soon... I promise!

We didn't really have the money this year to do a "week long vacation" so.....we have been doing Fun Fridays!! Jeremy has taken all the Fridays off from work during the summer and we have let the boys "plan" what they want to do! They have really surprised me with some of their ideas!

It has been a family summer - and I have loved seeing them have soooo much fun together! I have stood back several times and just wondered where the time has gone......my three little boys have started to grow into young men (especially Dylan!!). I couldn't be more proud of them. I pray that as they start getting ready for this upcoming school year that they each will keep God close to their hearts each day!!

It has been sooo crazy trying to get ready for our preschool graduation program! It is this Friday at 9:00 a.m. (just in case you want to pray for me! haha). Jeremy and I have been putting in some massive hours trying to get the program all ready. I am exhausted!!

Just to give "props" to my hubby: he has done ALL of the video presentations for the school - that's 4 different picture videos w/music!! He is also making DVD's of all the videos for each and every student here so they can watch it at home too! He is sooooo awesome! Just thought I would show some love!

Anyway we are going to collapse on Friday afternoon! Oh yeah he also has to clean up the HUGE mess that we will be making on Friday! He just keeps smilin' and goin' on! Thank you!!!

Friday we had fun blind folding him. he was scared that we were going to spaghetti warehouse.

But insted we went to Edohana. we kept him from knowing about where we were going for his birthday.

Well our cook was talented he juggled eggs. one landed in his hat it was fun and exciting. when we got to our table he juggled his utensils. After that he put oil on the big stove and then the oil burst into flames. We ordered off the kid menu and we got as much as the adults!

This was the stack of oinions after he put oil in the stack and lit it on fire. it lasted for a whole minute. It was awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah - do it again!

wow shrimp - I ussually HATE shrimp but wow this was awesome I loved it!

All the guys did but I was the ONLY one to catch it in my mouth on the first try!

ok the computer just stoped working and I was almost done. Mom to the rescue - somehow she knows how to make this computer work! Thank goodness! it has taken me forever to do this!

This is how we embarassed DAD on his bday! They came out and played on the gong and made him wear this "amish" hat!!!!! But they did give him a big Fried ice cream - it was very good! Don't ask me how I know that!!!! haha

8th Grade Banquet!

As promised here is my Baby all grown up......and having the time of his life!

We started out at a steakhouse in Winnsborro - it was amazing! The service was awesome, the ladies really went out of their way for us and our boys! As we ate we watched as the rain just poured - we as the parents were kind of worried since we knew the boys were supposed to arrive at the banquet in "convertible cars". The boys were not the least bit worried - they were just having a wonderful and exciting time!

These are the BEST group of boys that Dylan could have for friends! God has sure blessed him with a great group of buddies to hang out with!

Now we are off to meet up with our "grand entrance" mini roadster cars! They are so fun! We had two of the Dads be the drivers! They drove all over town and had a blast! Yes, the rain held off just the perfect amount of time for our boys to enjoy the "ride"!

The boys were challenged by one of their teachers to do something that had not ever been done in any of the previous years - so......here we are in the cutest mini cars ever and making history for the Middle School!

As the boys exited the cars they had the coolest "walk and turn" as they proceeded into the banquet - they practiced this "performance" many times before actually going to the school. The crowd at the school LOVED the cars and how they walked in!

This night is definitely a milestone in Dylan's life as he is venturing out of his comfort zone and actually having his very first dance with a girl. He just texted us to let us know he is having a great time!!

We lost him for 3 whole day as he read this HUGE book! He always says reading is like watching a movie in your head! We kept telling him to turn the "movie" off! Even Dixie was missing him! LOL His elementary reading teachers would be so proud!

I was going to the kitchen to pour my cup of coffee - when I noticed Dylan out on the patio reading his Bible before school. Then Jeremy went out and joined him - I thought this was such a precious time! This picture is taken from my kitchen window as I was holding back the tears!!!

Eight grade banquet is tomorrow - He is so excited! I promise LOTS of pictures to come!

Easter

I had a great time going to Damon's Easter Hunt at school! It was raining but, hey, that does not stop 2nd graders from finding the "good stuff"! He has such good friends at school and it is always fun to see him in that environment.

Mrs. Brock has been a great teacher for Damon - we couldn't have asked for a better year!

She is exactly what he needed! God has shown many blessings through her!

We then went to Memaw's and Papa's house for the best ever egg hunt! It was a BEAUTIFUL day and we so enjoyed the day with them!

This is Memaw's new "cart" or "buggy". I think the kids enjoy it more than she does - but then again I've heard that she goes pretty fast!

March Madness!

Yes, we have 3 birthdays in March! First is me (the 11th), they really spoiled me this year! Jeremy surprised me with beautiful picture frames for the family pictures we had taken at church, bird feeders and a wonderful table and chair set for our back patio! We love to eat dinner out there on warm spring nights. I have also found that it is a great place to do my Bible studies. Jaime surprised me with FABULOUS cupcakes - which we devoured!

Next is Damon (the 13th), Jeremy and the "guys" had an entire weekend to themselves! I left for Branson with the girls. Sorry no pictures - I guess guys don't think about using a camera! haha! I heard that they had a great time: going to the movies, out to eat, "Nerf Wars" and lots of video games! Mrs. Brock has a great time "catching" the birthday kids and trying out "a new shade" of lipstick! He said he tried to wipe it off all day - it must have been a longlasting shade!!!LOL

Then is Dylan (the 30th). We got him a new "air soft gun" to use with his friends. His brothers got him a nerf football and itunes gift cards! Oh and yes, Jaime did bring those delicious cupcakes for him!

Other "happenings" this month were the guys trying out Dad's new grill. I am sure enjoying them cooking ALOT of great dinners!

BRANSON

I went to stay the weekend in Branson,MO with two wonderful friends: Melanie and Eva. We had a great time laughing, shopping, laughing, eating, laughing, talking and a little more laughing! I didn't realize how much of a need it was until I was there. I get so busy with my everyday busy-ness that I forget that I need a break sometimes. We took Melanie's girls to Springfield so they could stay with grandparents (Don & Becky) for Spring Break. And then we stayed in a gorgeous 3 bdrm 3 bth condo on Table Rock Lake. We drove in to Springfield to go to Seminole Baptist Church on Sunday and it was fantastic. I have always wanted to go there and I would love to go back someday! I had a much needed break and at the same time got to know my friends alot better - Thank you to Melanie for the invite! I will be glad to go anytime!

Now I'm home and so refreshed and back to loving life! I think when you get busy you start to take the little things for granted. I know I had been! I hope I stay this appreciative and refreshed for a long while - I feel great!

Jeremy's Big Fall!

Guess what happens when you're in the attic and you step in between the studs and onto a section of sheet rock that is a patch for a previous time that someone stepped through the ceiling.

You make a big hole in the ceiling, you land on your rear end, and you get a trip to the emergency room!

Not to mention lots of scrapes and bruises, two shots, three different pain meds and several days off work! Lots of fun!!! Let's not forget you get to put on one of those cute hospital gowns!

But when all is said and done, you still have great people to take care of you and care about you.

The boys each made a card for their dad and, with the help of Memaw and Papa, got together a get well basket with lots of things to cheer him up!

And they attached this balloon to help out.

They are AWESOME!!!

Thanks to everyone that has called us, prayed for Jeremy and have helped out as he's missed work!

Duct Tape Boy!!!

So, our favorite teenager comes home one day and says that he wants to create an outfit to wear that night for Duct Tape Night at church.

Why not! It's not every day your self-conscience teenager wants to dress-up in duct tape. He did want it to be as neat as possible.

We had fun doing it and even though he didn't win the contest, he made us proud that he participated. He even let them tape him up on the gym wall. What could be more fun than that?!

Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day was WONDERFUL! I think it is my favorite because I see how much my boys watch their father - and how much he spoils me every year! He is so romantic and thoughtful and I know our boys are catching on to that - maybe someday they will have the opportunity to spoil their wives as much as their dad does me.
Anyway this is the most precious picture - it may not look like much - but Dakota woke up early Sat morning and made this toast for me. We didn't have heart cookie cutters so he took ALOT of time cutting this out. Then he topped it with Apple Butter - which he knows I love!

I have always wanted a boquet of "mixed" roses - and yes, Jeremy surprised me with these on Friday at the preschool! They are the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen! This picture doesn't do them justice - but you get the idea. He is very deceptive when it comes to keeping secrets from me!

This was sitting under the flowers on Sat. and yes my boys thought it was the funniest thing ever! They were saying it for days - I guess there are worse things for them to be saying - I think they just liked the "look" I gave them each time! It was alot of fun around here and I'm so thankful for a husband that cares so much and shows it in so many ways!

Sat. night we went with Jeremy and Felicia to The Lodge for dinner. It was so great to get out with them again! We always have so much fun together with way too much laughing involved!

It was great food and great entertainment and a wonderfully romantic setting. And yes Jeremy even asked me to dance - it took him awhile but we had so much fun!

My Husband - My Hero

I had eye surgery last Friday and was it an experience!! To say the least my "recovery" time was a little difficult. The doctor said that a small percentage say that it is the worst experience of their life - YES that was me! Well, my wedding vows came to mind - you know the part about "in sickness and in health". I could not open my eyes for approx. 24 hours and also in extreme pain. Jeremy came and basically helped me keep from going insane. He made sure my meds were taken at EXACTLY the right times, made sure the kids were taken care of, and helped me with everyting (I will never take "seeing" for granted ever again!), he held me until sleep came my way, he spoon fed me potato soup, and most importantly he prayed for me. I am sure he did a lot more - but I can't remember much more - the days are all a blur.
And now it is Tuesday and I am doing much better! Halleluiah!!!! I was very worried there for awhile.
My husband - my hero! I can never thank him enough for everything he does, not only when I'm sick, but every other day too! My husband is the most awesome man and I just want him to know how much I love him!!!!!!

He kept us busy and rolling with laughter all night and the next day too! It definitely brought back memories of when mine were 2 yrs old. The questions that never end, the sippy cups, diaper bags, wet wipes, car seats, nap times, and who could forget "the diaper changes"! Those of you that still have 2 yr olds - it does get better but cherrish these times for they won't be here for very long.

Basketball

Well, one basketball season is over and now one is starting! Dylan has had a great season! His last game was last night and they won!! 44 to 15 they played against Winfield. Dylan scored 4 points and was great!

Now we start Damon's first year of basketball. He is playing Upward Basketball. They don't keep score(but Daddy does) and there are no fouls called. So you can imagine 7 & 8 yr olds free to play however they see it! We thought it would be a good start for him to learn the game before he gets into the "competitive league". He is having a great time and he even knew some of the boys on his team.

O.K. so last night we had our first "Girls Night Out" of 2009, and oh my goodness I haven't laughed that much since "last year"! LOL Happy Birthday Amy & Michelle!!!!
I woke up this morning thinking how blessed I am to have such wonderful, close friends. They are some of the most encouraging friends I have ever had and I want them all to know how much I appreciate them as my GNO girls!!!!
I could have had the most terrible day and by the end of the night - everything is wonderful and life is good - even with its "challenges"! I truly believe God has brought us together for a reason - even if its just to brighten each other up with a little laughter! I would drop everything to help any of these 5 ladies, if they ever needed anything! And that is what it is all about!

Looking Back

Well this is the time of year when you are looking back at a year gone by, so.....
This has been a REALLY rough year for us! I remember the start of 2008... we had no idea where we were going to live. That in itself was the most stressful time of my life. But God has shown Himself very faithful to us. I know in my head that we should not have worried - but my heart was VERY worried. God has provided us with this beautiful house and has shown Himself faithful in providing a way for us to pay each month's rent.
The Summer started out great as a friend of ours provided us a way to have a wonderful vacation! Big Cedar was definitely the highlight of the year. We were able to go just after God moved us into this house and we sure did need a time to reconnect as a family. It was a once in a lifetime memory for us and the kids.
The summer was tight and we scraped by with help from family. We had to find creative ways to have outings as family fun - but all-in-all the kids had a fun one.
Soccer starts!!!! With all three boys playing we were again stretched beyond belief. Six to eight practices a week, Dylan reffing games and then our games on top of that. It seemed we were living and breathing S O C C E R! Oh and then football starts at school for Dylan. So then we added football practices four times a week plus in town and out of town games. I can't believe we made it withour forgetting something. My calendar sure was used! We just took it one day at a time I guess.
And then it's over!!! A little break is all we need, but straight into basketball we go! It is a lot easier now though because only Dylan plays and he practices at school and then just walks home when he's done. Out of town games are fun now - we call them our weekly date night with the kids! (always Mexican food!)
Christmas has been WONDERFUL! Christmas Eve we were able to go to Glen Rose to see Jeremy's Papaw. He is 93 and is a wonderful man. We haven't been able to go there for Christmas Eve in about 5 years - so we were very excited to go! The boys and Jeremy got to see cousins that they haven't seen in years.
WE have so enjoyed being home with the boys. We actually spent a night making Christmas Cookies - the icing got kinda messy but hey we had a blast! Playing games has been nonstop around here. Monopoly, Guess Who?, Basketball, Wii Fit, and Football are just a few faves to be named.
So now here we are starting 2009 - Jeremy and I have said it has got to be better than 2008 - but looking back we have learned a lot about each other and most importantly about our God! It is great to be able to say "He's still workin' on us!"

Yes I know its been awhile! Here are a few pics of the West activities over the last few weeks.

He loves to work out with his Daddy!

This is how I send my kids to school!! LOL It was "Rock Day" at the Middle School and it was "Pajama Day" at Travis Elementary. They were all excited to be going to school that day!Our last football game - ended our season 3 - 3 -2 He had a great time learning so much about the sport! He was complimented by the coaches they say he is very coachable and he gives 110% to the team.

Halloween FUN!! We had so much fun this night! As you can see Damon got to be a Football player - thanks to his big brother again! And Dakota, well, he just kinda threw together his "Rocker" outfit!

Dylan went to a friends house - they kinda dressed him up! He had a lot of fun hanging out with them - even though he was the only boy there! He doesn't care because they are really good christian friends from church.

They cashed in with the candy!! And for those of you that "know" Dakota - he is the candy man! They have this tradition of putting the chocolate in one pile and all others in another pile. Needless to say we still have a ton of candy in our house!

We were remembering one of Dakota's first trick or treating experiences(about 2 yrs old) - He was so very tired and he didn't want to quit - so he turned around eyes half closed and asked "Can we do this again tomorrow?" He was so cute!

Carving Pumpkins was a family affair - when we each had our own to design!

The biggest leaf pile ever! Well at least that's what they thought that day! Dakota, Damon, Abbi and Ella had hours of fun in the leaves! Who knew falling leaves could be so entertaining?!!
Soccer Tournament day: turned out to be the coldest day yet.

Damon's team won the first game early that morning and played again in the afternoon for first place. They lost by one point and got second - what a great game!Dakota's team won FIRST place! They were a great team of players. He really enjoyed this season. Dylan's team also was second place. What a season: one Gold and two Silvers!! Go West Boys!Now it's on to Basketball!! It will be a little easier now that we only have two that play in this sport. Dylan plays for his school and Damon has decided that he wants to play Upward basketball. The boys all told me I need a saying on the back of my van that says "Sports Mom - Bring it On!"

Fire!

I thought I was doing great today by calling Jeremy and I's lunch order in early to DQ. Well I go in a little bit later and I stand at the counter waiting for someone to help me. As I look over to the food order area I see a bag of food catching on fire right there on the food counter! The guys luckily see it in no time - but the entire bag has completely caught on fire! The young man comes over to me and says he thinks that might have been my order! Yes - I will wait for fresh food since mine is charcoaled and soaking wet on top of that! The lady beside me is laughing hysterically by now and she places her order of a "large Dr. Pepper" and the young man says "Good something that won't catch on fire!" Well, just thought I would share my "adventure" for the day!!!

Family

I was kinda getting deep in thought today......I know sounds really scary! But I have a family that I don't EVER get to see or for that matter talk to. I miss that connection for myself and for my boys. My parents are in Mt Vernon - getting ready to move to Wyoming. My two brothers, who are many years younger than I, are in Wyoming with their families. We just have lost alot through the years - they chose paths that are not necesarily the best for them in the last few years. My prayers go up to my Heavenly Father for each of them and their children. My grandparents live in MO and I haven't seen them in years. I am so very thankful that Jeremy has family all around us! I am so very blessed to be a part of the West Family! They have taught me everything I know and feel about "unconditional Love" I am who I am today because of that entire family! My boys have so much love and caring for grandparents, great-grandparents and so many West cousins! I guess with Thanksgiving just around the corner I was just feeling thankful for what I do have with the "acquired" family I now have. I still miss my side of the family I don't get to see and that my boys do not know much about, but all-in-all I love ALL of my Family!

All in a Week

WOW - it all started on Saturday when we were finishing up our busy soccer-filled day. We were watching Dylan play his game. Damon was playing with some friends on the next field - when all of a sudden we realized he was hurt. He had run (full speed) into the goal post. He was bleeding from his head quite alot. After washing him up we saw that it was a little cut on the side of his head. Major headache for a couple of days! My poor Baby!

MONDAY - (as per Damon) I walked into my classroom and I saw "West" on the bulletin board. I looked again and I saw"Damon" and then I saw my picture! I was the Star Student and I get to bring home the sign to put out in the yard!

Dakota played his game and he had to play the entire game - we only had one sub who showed up after the game started! We won 5-3! Dakota played an awesome game - he had so much hustle - we were very proud of his focus on the game.

Dylan was reffing a game on Monday night when he told us - "Oh by the way our football game was moved from Thurs. night to tomorrow night in Canton at 5:00" No problen we can all change our work schedules on a dime! Thank you Melanie for your patience with us! Lately YES we can and have - we have learned just how flexible we can be!

Tuesday - Damon trying to find the "best spot" for his sign! He was so excited!

We went to Canton - Jeremy actually thought about not going - it turned out to be the best game of the season - not competition - but definitely a spirit booster for our team!

Yes you are reading this right - we won! Dylan caught a 7 yard pass and the proud Dad couldn't stop himself from yelling "Go West!" (all team members are known by their last name) He was so very glad he went to that game! After the game we had the best family dinner at Juanitas in Canton. It was not only great food but we were kind of "celebrating" a fun, no worries game!

The rest of the week was as usual with practices and more school pictures(football this week).

On friday I went to have lunch with my STAR STUDENT! He wanted DQ - so I picked up 2 kids meals and we enjoyed a great lunch together. Congratulations Damon!!!

Now it is Saturday and we are getting ready to start it all over again! Fall weather is perfect for a day of soccer enjoyment - here we go!

Dakota "teaching" Damon how to build a zoo! Needless to say his animals were not happy! Oh Well - They just started over with a new zoo!

The first cool fall evening - we couldn't wait to try out our fireplace! Dylan walks in and says "where's the marshmallows?" LOL

Grandpa comes to town

Grandpa Folk came Saturday and stayed to watch our soccer games! He hasn't been to a game in years, so the boys were very excited to have him come. He was able to see Dylan reffing a game - so that was pretty neat. Damon didn't get much "action" as goalie - but they won - so all was good. Dylan's game was very exciting as the two teams were very equally matched. They won but only by one point in the last 5 minutes. Grandpa seemed to really get into that game!! Dakota was along for the ride again as he plays on Monday. After the games we went for Ice cream - so of course that was a big hit too! Thank you Grandpa for treating us to a good day with you!

SOCCER!!

WOW!! What a full day! I am exhausted! Damon and Dylan both had to be at the fields by 8:30 this morning. Damon had a game at 9:00 and Dylan had a game to ref at 9:00 - so we walked between fields(having all 3 boys play each year we are very used to this!). Damon's team is very good and they won 8 to 0. He didn't win any games last year so this was a very welcome change.

He hasn't played "goalie" before so he is loving this too.

Then there's Dyaln - "the Ref"!!! LOL

We also had a little break - so we ran over to get some very delicious Hopkins County Stew! I say "we" but that is not totally acurate - Dylan never got to leave the fields, he had a booked day of reffing. Sorry Dylan - but before you start feeling bad for him, Dakota and Damon both saved some stew for him. Angie and her crew always do a great job! Sorry so busy eating and helping Damon that I forgot to take any pictures - maybe next year!

And now back to the Soccer fields - Dylan had his own game to play at 3:30. They have an older team and 4 of the 7 players are Mexican so they are very good. They told Dylan that his skills are too good for a "white" boy so they call him the "Albino Mexican" - this cracks me up every time I think about it!!LOL He scored 3 goals of his own - but every player except one scored so you guessed it - they won 15 - 0!

Dakota was along for the ride today - no games for him, yet! His first game is on Monday and then again on Thursday - so he'll be busy this week! I love this time of year!!

Home Sweet Home! 5:30 - Just in time for dinner and oh yeah to study my Caraway script! on to another busy Sunday!

Wildcat Mom!!

We had our first "8th grade football" game. We went to Whitehouse! I never actually knew where Whitehouse was - but after seeing how close it was to Tyler - I have probably been there before and never knew I wasn't in Tyler. We did not win - but they had a great time! Dylan has been wearing a brace on his knee to help an early injury he has - so all we wanted was for him not to get hurt. Our prayers were answered and he played a great game!

He is #85 - and yes he does look "tiny" compared to the other players - but he can definitely hold his own!! We are very proud of him and all his daily hard work and dedication to his team.

After the game we headed over to Mercados. We had been told by a "very reliable source"(Thanks Felicia!!!) that it is a great place to go - and we had never been - so why not? It was VERY good and we had a wonderful time taking our "teenager" out after the game.

On the way home we realized that we were bringing home "real" football equipment! This may not seem important to many - but we have an aspiring young football player here at home! We knew that he was going to be very excited about it (for weeks he has been pretending "football" with his baseball helmet and gloves!). It is quite funny to see him charging all over the house with his "gameface" on!!

Yes - we were right he was in heaven! He had all this on most of the day today!! He has a great big brother who was very generous to share! He has enjoyed being tackled by not only his brothers but even Daddy got in on the game!! Life with BOYS is never-ending Fun!!

Tomorrow we are on to a FULL day of Soccer!!

Hurricane Ike!

Yes, you might be wondering what those West boys are up to now! Well......let me tell you! They are OUT (yes OUT!!!) in the rain! They are "collecting" rain water. Why you ask....well that I am not really sure of but as you can clearly see they are working TOGETHER at something - whatever it is!!! They have been out walking up and down the street - barefooted! They came to me as a force to be reckoned with asking if they could go out since "there is no thunder and no lightning! Pleeeasse!" What could I say, since they were all agreeing on something? It's only a Tropical Storm. I remember doing this as a child myself and it is rather amuzing to see my boys out there "enjoying" a hurricane!!!

Ranger Game

Damon 's baseball team went to a Ranger game and had so much fun - after the rain delay that is!! He hadn't seen most of his friends from the team since May. They were up in a suite box and that just adds to the fun! Jeremy and Dakota were invited to go too. It was a great time for him and 2 of his boys! They returned home in the early morning hours and still did not want to go to bed - they had so much to tell me about what they saw and did. Thank you to Broc Hoenberger for a great baseball team party!!!

Dylan spent all day that Saturday in a soccer clinic - so he could be a soccer ref for this season. Since it is his first year he will only get to be a line judge, but he is very excited about it! He has played soccer since he was 7 and it is his favorite of all sports that he plays. He has a heart for the game and it is amazing for us to watch him play!

Back to School

So we finished our "Back to School" shopping today. Not much to it for boys: t-shirts and jeans oh and those precious shoes of theirs! I think we are all happy now that we have new shoes for school, I even picked up a pair for myself.
I have officially started back to "work" now. Friday we had our first teachers meeting and I am so excited to get another year started! The preschool has been a great blessing to me and it just gets better every year! God is so Good!
We were very blessed this summer as Memaw bought ALL of our school supplies for the boys- including backpacks. And you know how expensive that can get especially for three boys! We are so very thankful to her and Papa for all they do to help us. We can never tell them enough how much we appreciate them, not only for what they do, but mostly for their LOVE and PRAYERS for our family!!! We love you Memaw and Papa!!!

Summer Fun

We went to Lake Texoma Camp to visit Dakota. This is the first summer that I have not gone with him to camp. He did so good and we are so very proud of him, not only for being good but mostly for his decision to follow God with how he lives his life! Thank you Lord for touching his heart!!

So the summer is slowly slipping away from us - we know when Dakota's birthday comes around that we don't have much summer left to enjoy together. His birthday comes at a very hard time for us financially. We hardly ever give him something "special". This year we tried to plan ahead and Jeremy used a vacation day at work. For his birthday we gave him a day at Hurricane Harbor. We stayed from the minute they opened until they were announcing (for people like us) that they were closing! He was the happiest birthday boy you've ever seen! We went on a Thursday and it was his actual "birthday"(7/31) It wasn't very busy and we had a wonderful family day! We made it a point that someone had to say "Hey Dakota, Happy Birthday!" on every ride that we went on. By the end of the day it had become very funny!

All during that day I was reminded of how precious my family is to me. Our boys are growing up so very fast. I look at each one and how different they are from each other. Dylan - a teenager WOW he continues to surprise me daily as he matures. Dakota - Our comedian he keeps us laughing constantly. Damon - his imagination is so incredible! I think I get so busy with each day that I forget how blessed Jeremy and I are. I often find myself counting the days until summer is over so I can start getting a paycheck again. I find myself worrying about how we are going to pay for the things we need and I daily forget that I am not the Provider - I need to rely on what God is providing every day for us. He is so good and I know He has the BIG plan for us!!
